Best compliance management software for CA firms in India (2026)
The best compliance management software for CA firms is not the one with the prettiest calendar view. It is the one that already knows the Indian statutory calendar — GST, ITR, TDS, advance tax and ROC — and turns it into real work: a task per client per period, created without being asked, chased before the date, closed only when the portal confirms it, and provable afterwards. We ranked nine platforms on exactly that.
We stay independent; some links are sponsored. Our scoring criteria are public — see how we review, or browse the 2026 rankings scoreboard.

How we scored compliance management software for CA firms
Most practice tools claim a compliance module. Far fewer survive contact with 300 clients in the week before the 20th. So we scored this field on five things a compliance engine either does or doesn't do, and ignored everything else:
- 1. Calendar coverage. Does the product ship knowing GST, ITR, TDS, advance tax and ROC dates — including the awkward ones like DIR-3 KYC and DPT-3 — or does it hand you an empty calendar to fill in?
- 2. Automatic task creation. Does a new period generate the work list by itself, per client, respecting each client's filing frequency and QRMP status? If a human has to create next month's tasks, the system has already failed.
- 3. Portal status sync. Does the tool check what the government portal actually recorded, or does it believe whoever clicked the tick box? This is the single biggest divider on this page.
- 4. Reminders and escalation. Do alerts fire before the deadline rather than after it, reach the client as well as the staff member, and climb to a manager when nothing moves?
- 5. Audit trail. When a client asks in November what happened in July, can the firm prove it — timestamps, owner, acknowledgement, UDIN, the filed document?
Verified vendor documentation and published pricing carry the most weight, and every third-party score is printed with its review count, because independent review volume in this category is thin. The full method lives on how we review, the same order powers our 2026 rankings, and if you want the broader category rather than the compliance layer alone, start with our best CA practice management software guide or the top 10 countdown.
The compliance calendar a CA firm must cover
Before judging any tool, look at what it has to hold. This is the recurring statutory load a mid-sized Indian practice carries for a mixed client list — and the reason compliance tracking software India-wide is sold on dates rather than features. A product that covers only the first four rows is a GST tracker, not a compliance engine.
| Return / filing | Who it applies to | Due date | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| GSTR-1 | Monthly GST filers | 11th of the following month | Monthly |
| GSTR-1 (QRMP) | QRMP-scheme GST filers | 13th after the quarter ends | Quarterly |
| GSTR-3B | Monthly GST filers — the return that pays the tax | 20th of the following month | Monthly |
| GSTR-9 / 9C | Annual GST return and reconciliation statement | 31 December | Annual |
| Advance tax instalments | Assessees liable to advance tax | 15 June, 15 September, 15 December, 15 March | Quarterly |
| TDS returns (24Q / 26Q / 27Q) | Every deductor | 31 July, 31 October, 31 January, 31 May | Quarterly |
| ITR — non-audit cases | Individuals and firms not subject to audit | 31 July | Annual |
| Tax audit report | Clients subject to tax audit | 30 September | Annual |
| ITR — audit cases | Clients subject to audit | 31 October | Annual |
| DPT-3 | Companies (return of deposits) | 30 June | Annual |
| DIR-3 KYC | Every DIN holder | 30 September | Annual |
| AOC-4 | Companies (financial statements) | Around 30 October | Annual |
| MGT-7 | Companies (annual return) | Around 29 November | Annual |
These are the standard statutory dates. CBIC, CBDT and MCA extend them by notification often enough that you should verify against the portal near the deadline rather than trusting any calendar — including this one — in the final week. Form-by-form tables live in our CA compliance calendar for India, GST return due dates 2026, income tax due dates for AY 2026-27 and ROC and MCA compliance calendar.
- 4.8 From ₹1,000/year (excl. 18% GST) · unlimited clients on every plan
QwikCA takes the top spot because it clears all five criteria, and the third one — portal status sync — is where most rivals stop. Point it at your client list and it auto-creates the GST, TDS and ITR tasks for every client and every period, so the work list for a new month exists before anyone opens a spreadsheet. The unified compliance calendar then fires smart pre-deadline reminders rather than post-mortem alerts, and GST portal auto-fetch pulls the actual filing status back into the system, which ends the "we think it went through" conversation for good.
Around that engine sits the machinery that makes compliance stick: client chasing over the WhatsApp Business API and templated email, documents arriving in an AES-256 vault through the client portal and mobile apps, Kanban task boards with recurring tasks and checklists so escalation has somewhere to go, role-based access with timesheets and GPS attendance, and — for the proof side — a UDIN register and DSC expiry tracking, so a signature never lapses in the middle of a filing run. Data sits on TLS 1.3 with residency in India. It is proven across 2,000+ firms and 5,000+ active users — Indian CA, CS and tax practices of every size, from solo offices through mid-to-large, multi-branch firms.
The honest boundaries, because a flawless writeup would be worthless: QwikCA does not compute or e-file returns, it is cloud-only with no on-premise install, and on the company-law side ROC/MCA is credential storage and work tracking, not a filing workflow — statutory-audit and ROC depth runs lighter than the legacy filing suites. DSC expiry is tracked, but you can't e-sign inside the app. For a company-heavy client list, plan for a ROC tool alongside it.
Pros
- Auto-creates GST, TDS and ITR tasks per client per period — no manual calendar build
- GST portal auto-fetch confirms real filing status instead of a tick box
- Smart pre-deadline reminders plus WhatsApp Business API and email chasing
- UDIN register and DSC expiry tracking for the proof-and-signature side
Cons
- Audit and ROC/MCA workflows run shallower than the legacy filing suites
- No on-premise option — QwikCA is cloud-only
- Tracks DSC expiry but can't e-sign documents in-app
Plans (yearly, excl. 18% GST, unlimited clients on every tier): Solo ₹1,000 (1 user, 2GB), Starter ₹7,500 (10 users), Growth ₹12,500 (20 users, the most popular tier), Scale ₹17,000 (40 users) and Enterprise ₹27,000 (60 users) — or ₹100/user/month billed yearly, ₹120 monthly. There's a one-month free trial with no card and a 30-day money-back guarantee; there is no permanent free plan.
- 2
Jamku
4.7 From ₹6,500/yr (5 users)Jamku holds #2 because its compliance-management dashboard is the single feature users name most often when they explain why they stay — a live, firm-wide view of what is due, what is done and who owns it across GST, income tax and TDS cycles. It is one of the most widely used and widely discussed practice tools among Indian CA and CS firms, and its Capterra base (4.5/5 from 36 reviews) is the largest independent signal in the challenger pack. Two things to test on a demo: recurring-task automation and notifications run lighter than the tools above it, so the escalation side needs checking with your own volumes; and some GST/IT portal sync, the UDIN register and DSC-expiry alerts ship in Jamku Portal, an add-on priced separately from the core licence. Our QwikCA vs Jamku comparison maps the gaps side by side.
- 3
Turia
4.6 From ₹100/user/moTuria takes #3 on calendar coverage, which is the criterion most tools quietly fail. Its compliance calendar reaches beyond the monthly GST and TDS rhythm into ROC territory — DIN KYC, AOC-4 and MGT-7 are tracked as first-class items rather than diary notes — and the DSC register raises expiry alerts before a signature lapses mid-filing season. Chasing runs over WhatsApp and email, the Android and iOS apps mean a partner can check the due list from a client's office, and Tally and Zoho Books integration keeps the underlying data close. Pricing at ₹100–₹200/user/month is excellent value; note the 5-user minimum on per-user plans, and that SMS automation isn't offered (WhatsApp and email are). QwikCA vs Turia compares the two engines directly.
- 4
Finexo
4.5 From ₹5,999/yr (10 users)Finexo earns #4 with the single smartest piece of auto task creation on this list: it generates GST, ITR and TDS tasks per client per period and factors in each client's QRMP status, so a quarterly filer doesn't get twelve phantom GSTR-1 tasks a year and a monthly filer doesn't get four. Add ROC/MCA tracking, DSC expiry alerts, versioned document management and an encrypted credential vault, and the compliance loop is close to complete; bulk WhatsApp, SMS and email handle the chasing. Flat annual pricing at ₹5,999 for 10 users keeps the cost predictable. It has fewer public reviews than the veterans, and Tally and government-portal integrations weren't confirmed in our research — so make portal status sync an explicit item on your trial checklist. See QwikCA vs Finexo.
- 5
ERPCA
4.5 From ₹200/user/moERPCA at #5 approaches compliance from the work side rather than the portal side. In the market since 2008, Woodapple's suite is strongest at turning obligations into assigned, tracked, ultimately billable tasks — the task-and-billing pipeline is its deepest muscle — supported by a client portal and a mobile app available in nine languages, which genuinely helps when staff and clients work beyond English. Integrations span Tally, Google Drive, Dropbox, Razorpay and PayPal. Be clear about what you're buying: deep GST/ITR/ROC filing automation isn't its centre of gravity the way it is for the compliance-first engines above, so expect to define more of the recurring calendar yourself, and a handful of users mention data screens loading slowly at peak. QwikCA vs ERPCA has the detail.
- 4.5 From Partly public
ATOM, from Hyderabad's Vider Business Solutions, is #6 and scores well on the two criteria that matter most here: its compliance calendar covers GST, income tax, TDS and MCA, and it syncs status from the portals rather than relying on staff to tick boxes. DSC management, KYB-style client onboarding, recurring billing and RBAC with timesheets fill out the platform, ISO 27001 certification answers the security question, and integrations run from Google Drive and OneDrive to Razorpay, WhatsApp, Freshdesk and eMudhra. Techjockey scores it 4.9/5 — from just 13 reviews, so treat that number with the caution its sample size deserves. What holds it here: there is no mobile app, the complaint users raise most, and pricing is only partly public (₹1,788/user/year excl GST per Techjockey, ₹249/user/month per SourceForge), so insist on a written quote.
- 4.3 From Free / ₹2,950/org/mo (billed annually)
Zoho Practice at #7 does the fundamentals cleanly — recurring tasks with deadline alerts, Workpapers, client document requests and a secure self-service client portal on Premium — and it does them inside an ecosystem many firms already live in, with deep Zoho Books integration and a genuinely free tier for Zoho Finance partners. As a compliance engine specifically, though, it is generic rather than Indian: there is no native ITR or ROC e-filing, no portal status sync to tell you what GSTN actually received, and no confirmed dedicated mobile app, so the statutory calendar is something you configure rather than something the product ships knowing. Capterra currently lists no reviews. Paid plans run ₹2,950/org/month for up to 5 users and ₹8,950/org/month for Premium, both billed annually, with extra users at ₹400/user/month and a 14-day trial. See QwikCA vs Zoho Practice.
- 8
TaxAdda
4.1 From ₹1,999/yrTaxAdda takes #8 for one principle the bigger platforms should copy: a GST task does not close because someone clicked Done — it closes when the GSTN server confirms the return was filed. That is proof of completion rather than a claim of it, and for a small tax-focused practice it removes an entire category of unpleasant surprise. Around it sit due-date and client tracking, task delegation, time tracking and bulk SMS, WhatsApp and email chasing, priced by client volume — ₹1,999/year for 100 GST and 300 IT clients, ₹3,999 for 250 and 500, ₹6,999 for 500 GST plus unlimited IT — with unlimited users on every plan. The limits are real: no client portal, no native mobile app and no ROC or audit module, so firms with company clients will outgrow it. SoftwareSuggest rates it 5/5, from 2 reviews. QwikCA vs TaxAdda compares them.
- 3.9 From ₹9,690/yr
Saral TaxOffice closes the list as the outlier: it is the only entry here that actually discharges the compliance rather than tracking it. Relyon (in the market since 2000) bundles IT, TDS and GST e-filing with balance-sheet and audit-report generation, XBRL, client management and MIS, so the filing status in the system is real by definition — the return went out from this software. That earns it a place on any compliance shortlist, particularly for audit-heavy practices. It ranks ninth because the tracking layer around the filing is the thinnest here: a dense desktop UI, cumbersome setup and weaker cloud and mobile access mean partners can't glance at the due list from a phone, and there is no portal-fetch or auto-task machinery of the kind the leaders ship. Published pricing is ₹9,690 single-user and ₹13,380 multi-user, excl GST.
Compliance software vs a spreadsheet
With roughly one lakh CA firms in India and about 72% of them sole proprietorships, the honest baseline for this category isn't a rival product — it's a shared spreadsheet, and often a good one. A spreadsheet is free, instant and infinitely flexible, and for a practice with thirty clients and one person watching it, it works. What it cannot do is any of the five things we scored. It doesn't know that the 20th is a GSTR-3B date, so it can't create next month's rows for you; it doesn't know which of your clients are on QRMP, so the quarterly filers either get phantom monthly rows or get forgotten; it never checks the GST portal, so a green cell means somebody believed a filing happened, not that GSTN received one; it can't WhatsApp a client at 9am on the 14th; and when a client disputes a delay eight months later, a spreadsheet has no timestamps, no owner history and no acknowledgement to show. Purpose-built compliance calendar software replaces belief with evidence — which is the whole argument for paying for it. The switch itself is less painful than most firms expect: moving from Excel to CA practice management software covers the migration step by step, how to never miss a compliance due date sets out the working process on top of it, and our compliance calendar glossary entry defines the term your vendors will all use slightly differently.
Choosing the right compliance management software for CA firms
Shortlist two, not nine, and pick them by where your firm actually bleeds. If the leak is GST volume and client-chasing, demo QwikCA and Finexo — both auto-create the period tasks, and QwikCA adds portal status sync. If you want the most battle-tested compliance dashboard, add Jamku. Company-heavy client lists should see Turia or Vider ATOM for ROC and MCA coverage. Zoho shops start with Zoho Practice; lean tax-only practices can run on TaxAdda for ₹1,999 a year; audit-heavy offices that want filing and tracking from one vendor should weigh Saral TaxOffice. Then load twenty real clients into each trial, wait for one live due date to pass, and see which system told you first. Our buying guide has the full checklist, and the best task management software for CA firms guide covers what happens to the work once the compliance engine creates it.
Compliance management software for CA firms: FAQs
What is the best compliance management software for CA firms in 2026?
QwikCA is our #1 at 4.8/5, because it scores on all five things a compliance engine has to do: it knows the Indian statutory calendar, auto-creates the GST, TDS and ITR tasks per client per period, auto-fetches filing status from the GST portal, fires smart pre-deadline reminders over WhatsApp and email, and keeps the completion trail — including a UDIN register and DSC expiry tracking. It is proven across 2,000+ firms and 5,000+ active users. Jamku (4.7) and Turia (4.6) are strong, well-regarded alternatives, and Turia has the widest ROC coverage of the three.
What should due date tracking software for a CA actually do?
Five things, in this order. Cover the calendar — GST, income tax, TDS, advance tax and ROC, not just the monthly GST rhythm. Create the tasks itself, per client and per period, so nobody builds next month's work list by hand. Reflect real filing status from the portal, not a tick-box. Remind and escalate before the date, with the reminder reaching the client as well as the staff member. And leave an audit trail that proves when the work was completed and by whom. Our compliance calendar glossary entry explains the concept, and how to never miss a compliance due date turns it into a working process.
Does compliance management software file the returns for you?
Almost none of it does, and the honest tools say so. QwikCA, our #1, does not compute or e-file returns — it decides what needs filing, creates and assigns the work, chases the client, confirms status from the GST portal and bills the fee. Saral TaxOffice is the exception on this page, because it is a filing suite first. Most firms run a management layer beside a filing engine; see our guides to the best GST software for CA firms and the best income tax software for CAs for the filing side.
Which tools track ROC and MCA deadlines properly?
Turia is the most explicit, with DIN KYC, AOC-4 and MGT-7 tracked inside its compliance calendar. Vider ATOM covers MCA in its calendar with portal sync, and Finexo offers ROC/MCA tracking alongside its GST, ITR and TDS engine. Saral TaxOffice handles the company-law side through XBRL and audit-report generation. QwikCA is deliberate about the boundary: it stores ROC credentials and tracks the work, but it has no ROC/MCA filing workflow, so company-heavy practices should pair it accordingly. Our ROC and MCA compliance calendar lists the forms and dates.
How much does compliance tracking software cost in India?
Verified 2026 figures, all excl. 18% GST: TaxAdda from ₹1,999/year (priced by client volume, unlimited users); QwikCA from ₹1,000/year (Solo) to ₹27,000/year (Enterprise, 60 users) with unlimited clients on every tier; Finexo ₹5,999/year for 10 users; Jamku from ₹6,500/year for up to 5 users; Saral TaxOffice ₹9,690 single-user; Turia ₹100–₹200/user/month with a 5-user minimum; ERPCA ₹200/user/month; Zoho Practice ₹2,950/org/month billed annually, with a free tier for Zoho Finance partners. Vider ATOM publishes only part of its pricing. Our pricing comparison puts every plan side by side.
Is a compliance calendar in Excel good enough for a small firm?
It works until it doesn't — and it usually stops working somewhere between 40 and 80 clients, or the first time two people edit the sheet in the same week. A spreadsheet stores dates; it does not create next quarter's tasks, know which clients are on QRMP, check the GST portal, message a client on WhatsApp, or record who signed off and when. Moving from Excel to practice management software walks through the migration without losing the history you already have.
How did we rank the compliance management software on this page?
On five compliance-specific criteria: statutory calendar coverage, automatic task creation per client and period, portal status sync, reminders and escalation, and the audit trail left behind. We weight verified vendor documentation and published pricing most heavily, and wherever we cite a third-party score we print the review count beside it, because independent review volume in this category is small. The method is public on how we review, and the same order drives our 2026 rankings scoreboard.
